Welcome to ChapterSage!
The terms “we”, “us”, and “our” refer to ChapterSage Books Ltd. (“ChapterSage”). These Terms of Service (“Terms”) apply to your use of our online bookstore, website, and related services (collectively, the “Services”).

Our Services are hosted by Shopify Inc., which provides the e-commerce platform that allows us to offer our products to you.

By visiting, interacting with, or purchasing from ChapterSage, you agree to be bound by these Terms, as well as our Privacy Policy and Refund Policy.
If you do not agree, please do not use our Services.

 

Section 1 - Access and Account

By using our Services, you confirm that you are at least the age of majority in your province or territory of residence (in Alberta, 18 years old), or that you have given consent for any of your minor dependents to use the Services.

To make purchases, you may be required to provide accurate and current personal details (such as name, email, billing, and shipping information). You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account and password, and for all activity under your account.

Accounts may not be sold, transferred, or assigned without our consent.


Section 2 - Our Products

ChapterSage specializes in books and reading-related accessories (e.g., mugs, bookmarks, candles, and other literary items).
We make every effort to display accurate product information; however, colours and appearances may vary slightly due to lighting or device displays.

We do not guarantee that a product will meet your personal expectations. Product descriptions, prices, and availability may change without notice.


Section 3 - Orders

By placing an order, you make an offer to purchase a product. Orders are accepted only after payment is successfully processed and confirmed.

Please review your order carefully before submitting it. We may not be able to cancel or modify an order once processing begins, but we will do our best to assist you if possible.

Your purchases are subject to our Refund Policy.
All orders are for personal use only and not for commercial resale or export.


Section 4 - Prices and Billing

All prices are listed in Canadian Dollars (CAD) unless stated otherwise. Prices, promotions, and discounts may change at any time. The price charged for your order will be the price displayed at checkout.

Unless stated otherwise, prices exclude taxes, shipping, and handling fees.

By submitting your payment details, you confirm that:

  • The payment information is valid and authorized;

  • You are authorized to use the selected payment method;

  • Your payment will be honored by your financial institution; and

  • You agree to pay all applicable charges, taxes, and fees.


Section 5 - Shipping and Delivery

Orders are shipped from Calgary, Alberta, Canada.
Delivery times are estimates and not guaranteed.

Once an order leaves our facility and is handed to the carrier, title and risk of loss transfer to you. ChapterSage is not responsible for delays caused by shipping carriers, customs, or events beyond our control.


Section 6 - Intellectual Property

All content on the ChapterSage website — including text, book descriptions, artwork, graphics, logos, and product images — is owned by ChapterSage or its licensors and protected by Canadian and international copyright and trademark laws.

You may use our content only for personal, non-commercial purposes. Copying, reproducing, or distributing content without written permission is prohibited.

ChapterSage trademarks and logos may not be used without authorization. Shopify’s trademarks remain the property of Shopify Inc.

 

Section 7 - Optional Tools

We may provide access to third-party tools or integrations (e.g., reviews, recommendation widgets). These are provided “as is” without warranties. Your use of such tools is at your own risk.

We are not responsible for any issues or damages resulting from third-party tools.


Section 8 - Third-Party Links

Our Services may include links to third-party websites or resources (for example, book publishers, affiliates, or review sites).
We are not responsible for their content, policies, or actions. You access these sites at your own risk and should review their terms and privacy policies before engaging with them.


Section 9 - Relationship with Shopify

While ChapterSage uses Shopify to host our store, all purchases are made directly between you and ChapterSage.

Shopify is not responsible for product quality, refunds, or any damages related to your transactions.
By using our Services, you release Shopify and its affiliates from any claims related to your transactions with ChapterSage.

 

Section 10 - Privacy Policy

Your personal information is collected, used, and protected in accordance with our Privacy Policy and Shopify’s Privacy Policy available at https://www.chaptersage.com/policies/privacy-policy

Because Shopify hosts our store, certain data may be transferred or processed by Shopify and its affiliates outside of Canada.
By using our Services, you consent to such data handling and processing.


Section 11 - Feedback

If you provide reviews, suggestions, or feedback (“Feedback”), you grant ChapterSage a perpetual, royalty-free license to use, reproduce, and share that Feedback for business purposes (e.g., marketing, website testimonials, or social media).

You confirm that your Feedback does not infringe the rights of others. We may remove content that violates laws, copyrights, or these Terms.

 

Section 12 - Errors, Inaccuracies, and Omissions

Occasionally, our site may contain errors or inaccuracies in product descriptions, pricing, or availability.
We reserve the right to correct such errors and to modify or cancel orders when necessary.


Section 13 - Prohibited Uses

You agree not to use our Services to:

  • Violate any law or regulation;

  • Infringe intellectual property rights;

  • Harass, abuse, or defame others;

  • Upload or transmit malware or malicious code;

  • Attempt unauthorized access to systems; or

  • Engage in actions that disrupt or damage our Services.

We may suspend or terminate your account at any time without notice if you violate these Terms or applicable law.

Sections concerning Intellectual Property, Feedback, Limitation of Liability, Indemnification, and Governing Law will continue to apply after termination.


Section 15 - Disclaimer of Warranties

The Services and all products are provided “as is” and “as available.”
We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation, nor do we make representations regarding content accuracy or reliability.

To the fullest extent allowed by law, all warranties (express or implied) are disclaimed, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

Consumer Rights Notice: Nothing in these Terms limits your rights under applicable Canadian consumer protection laws that cannot be lawfully excluded.


Section 16 - Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, ChapterSage and its affiliates will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages arising from your use of our Services or products, including loss of profits, data, or goodwill.


Section 17 - Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless ChapterSage, Shopify, and their respective affiliates, employees, and partners from any claims, losses, or damages arising from your use of our Services, your breach of these Terms, or your violation of applicable law or third-party rights.


Section 18 - Severability

If any part of these Terms is found invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in effect.

 

Section 19 - Waiver; Entire Agreement

Failure to enforce any provision does not constitute a waiver.
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and Refund Policy, represent the entire agreement between you and ChapterSage.

Section 20 - Assignment

You may not assign or transfer these Terms without our prior written consent. ChapterSage may assign its rights and obligations without restriction.


Section 21 - Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms and any disputes arising from them are governed by the laws of the Province of Alberta and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein.

You agree to submit to the jurisdiction of the courts in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.
We encourage good-faith resolution or mediation before resorting to legal action.

Headings are for convenience only and do not affect interpretation.


Section 23 - Changes to Terms of Service

We may update or modify these Terms at any time. The latest version will always be available on this page.
If we make material changes, we will notify you through our website or by email when required by law.

Your continued use of our Services after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
